There is the song “Condor Avenue,” which is, unsurprisingly, a very early version of the song of the same name (although note Avenue vs Ave) from his debut album, Roman Candle. Two of the songs on the album may blow your mind. Previously only “released” in very short supply on cassette, we now get to hear it in full! Elliott and his highschool friends had been known to record under the name “Harum Scarum” and also “A Murder Of Crows.” Over the years we’ve had the odd A Murder Of Crows and Harum Scarum song shared, notably via Tony Lash, the drummer from Elliott’s later band “Heatmiser,” and a few snippets have also been teased but now we have the full album “The Greenhouse” recorded under the name A Murder Of Crows. Plus Madonna presented that particular award, which may have been the catalyst for that bizarre Between The Bars performance she did.Īnyway, the real reason I’ve decided to start this thread now is because recently an entire previously unheard (in full) project was shared online, and in very impressive quality all things considered. A wordsmith and a master at fingerpicking on his guitar admired by many, yet unknown to many more. It could also be described as thought provoking, emotional, captivating, and downright brilliant. He music could perhaps be described as melancholic, sad, even depressing.
